Could maybe wall mount both side to side behind it but neither would be centered unless I did them vertically, but that seems crazy, top one would be too high.

I still worry about input lag as multitabling fast-fold tables is almost like gaming in having to make decisions very quickly (average < 1s), needing to move quickly from table to table without noticeable lag. Looks like I can get a decent LCD TV in that size range for just 400ish.įiguring out where to put two displays of this size is kind of tricky though. Something in 43" to 55" size, 4k, 60hz is fine, gsync irrelevant. It will be expensive vs buying one monitor but I don't need fancy gaming features on the LCD. So.I suppose the logical thing would be to buy an OLED for movies/streaming/gaming and get a big LCD for productivity (mostly poker and analysis of poker). So I guess that is a no-go on the OLED for my mixed use scenario. I would reach 1000 hours of poker in less than 6 months. I thought it was like plasmas, where I've in the past had image retention but it goes away if you just switch to some different content or use the anti-image-retention scrolling bar. etc.Īhhh that sucks about the burn in being cumulative.

Its why when using a OLED for PC use you have to change some things, like hide task bar, animated or changing desktop backgrounds, screen savers, not opening up browser windows in full screen all the time due to the UI being in the same place each time. Your problem is ur going to be running high risk content in regards to 'burn in', repetitive high contrast static images are a nono for OLED. If u need it large, a LCD TV, likely one of Samsungs offerings. Basically if the text is roughly the same size (or bigger) as a 4k desktops icon text running at 300% scaling, u should be fine. Large text readable at ~4 feet would likely be big enough to not cause any issues. EG 100% scaling windows icon text, due to the subpixel layout (OLED is fully capable of not having any degradation after 10,000 hours of playing COD:WWII, but thats because it has low contrast low opacity UI)ĭont own one yet, but text clarity is only a problem with 'small' text. OLED pixel degradation (aka burn-in) is cumulative, its not like Plasma and CRT which is primarily duration based.Įxpect to see the 1st signs of 'burn-in' after about 1000 hours of that kind of abuse (~166 days) Other specs probably not relevant, but Threadripper 3970X, 256GB ram I'll replace it with a RTX 3080 if the botter scum don't get them all, or perhaps a Big Navi GPU.

A 32" 4k would probably be okay also, however I can't find any with IPS panels and refresh rates > 60 hz. The LG 38GL950G-B 3840x1600 175hz monitor also looks nice but is more expensive than the larger LG CX. I've considered ultrawides and while I like the 32:9 monitors, I wouldn't be able to see all tables simultaneously. I need a large high res display for multitabling and gaming. I guess there is also slight risk of burn in as HUDs are pretty static, would a 3x3 grid of mostly fixed text/graphics have image retention or burn in problems if used for say, 6 hours at a time? When not playing poker I'd using it for games or Netflix etc.Īnyone who has this TV can comment on the text clarity as well as any other potential downsides?Īlternative suggestions also are welcome. I saw on RTINGS this TV scores well as a PC monitor in most categories, but text clarity score was just 7.0. I need to be able to see text from the HUD clearly to multitable 3x3 or 4x3 grid, from a viewing distance of 4ish feet.

I'm considering buying a LG CX 48" or 55" OLED for use as a PC monitor.
